Lysander drove into the small parking of La Push High. After he parked in one of the few empty spaces near the front of the school, Lysander elegantly got out of his car, closed the door behind him and leaned up against the passenger's side door that faced the exit of the campus. He placed his hands in his pockets.
It was one of the few days where he seemed to beat the traffic of the other students' cars in the Forks High parking lot. Once he exited his own high school, he made a mad dash to Adriana's high school to see her, and to see if she was okay since being attacked by some vampire that thought it would be fun to let her slowly die in a horrible, burning pain. He had yet to find out who did that to her. His investigation was still ongoing.
The monotone bell rang signaling the end of the school day. Not even a second later, students started to come through the exit. As they passed by him, they stared. Lysander kept his face forward, his eyes focused on nothing. He waited for Adriana patiently as some of the students, mostly girls, stopped and stared at this beautiful strange, boy. Once or twice, a wave of "wet-dog" smell crossed his nose. He had been accustomed to it already since he had come to Forks so it didn't really bother him anymore.

{i'm saying this is after she transformed}
Adriana bid Jake goodbye and started for the door. A sweet smell hit her nostrils...she ran down the steps and towards the front of her school. She saw Lysander standing there and grinned. She bounded up to him as well as she could with a huge bit of gauze taped to her neck and her right arm in a sling, to take the stress off her shoulder. "Hey there," she said, a huge smile across her face. She wasn't sure if she was allowed to, but she stood on her tiptoes and gave him the gentlest kiss possible. She wasn't sure how he'd react, the scent of her blood was probably still fresh on her neck and all the other little scrapes she had from her "encounter" in the woods.

An all too familiar scent hit him and he knew Adriana was close by. And soon enough he saw her smiling face coming towards him in the sea of students. After she kissed him, he smiled gently and gave her right hand a squeeze. Then he took her left hand in his and kissed the tips of her fingers. "Hello my one and only. So on the way here, I was thinking maybe we could go down to First Beach. You told me about it when we first met. I'd like to see one of those driftwood fires." He grinned and moved to open the passenger's side door for her. "But if not, I could always take you home."

She stopped for a second, remembering the "rules" Jake had told her about. Lysander wasn't technically allowed to first beach, but...well, she counted as an escort she was sure, and she had Jake's word that he would never hurt him. And First Beach was a good place to talk...she smiled hastily, before setting her things in the back seat of his car. Shaking her head a bit, she smiled, immersing herself in the happiness that surrounded Lysander and not with the worry that surrounded her everyday life, regardless of werewolf involvement or not. She was suddenly conscious of some of the more popular girls boring their eyes into the back of her skull. She raised an eyebrow at Lysander. "My one and only?" Her heart had skipped a beat at the words--she was sure he'd heard that. "I'm sure by now I have half of this tiny school aflutter with how I snagged you," she said with a smile. She just knew she wasn't the prettiest or the biggest catch around...there were so many other fish in the sea and she was always conscious of that around Lysander, even if his gaze never even so much as wandered. "First Beach sounds great...what did you mean, take me home? Because I'm always so eager to pass up on an opportunity to be with you," she smiled again. "I'm assuming you'll need directions," she said as she got in. "So what are you waiting for?"

Lysander closed her door and got into the driver's seat. He turned towards Adriana as he started his car. "Yes, my one and only because there's no one else, but you...I promise. I do, I really promise that you're the only one forever and ever," he said seriously, hoping to get his point across, but then smiled again. "I think it's more how I snagged you. You could have any guy you want. But you let me have you. Which I'm forever grateful for." He drove towards the exit of the parking lot.
"Haha, well after what happened in the forest I thought maybe...I don't know. Never mind. Forget I said anything." He quickly stopped himself, trying not to think about bad things. He thought she wouldn't want to go anywhere with him anymore for fear that he'd turn into a monster like that vampire that bit her. "Right or left?" He asked hurriedly, looking from side to side.

Adriana looked at Lysander and abruptly realized how serious he was. She looked down, her voice was husky with blocked tears. She changed the subject. "I could not have any guy I want," she muttered to her thigh.
But then she looked back up at Lysander, intent on soothing him. He never, ever deserved pain, this beautiful creature was simply unworthy of it. She rubbed his icy arm. "Hey..." she started, realizing what he meant. "There's murderous fuckheads and angels in every race. Do you'd think I'd even make the comparison when I live in the same species that spawned both Hitler and Mother Theresa?" She kissed his arm softly. "Never, love."
"Oh! Uhh, right," she said, recognizing a particular cliff in the distance she'd always wanted to dive off of. She smiled. She and Jake were planning on doing that soon.

Lysander turned right towards an ominous cliff in the distance. "Yes, you could. You think so low of yourself, why? You're kind, smart, gentle. And you're gorgeous. I think to myself every second of every minute of every hour or every day about how lucky I am to have gotten you," he said sincerely at his foot stepped on the gas pedal. He had already reached 120 mph without even looking at the road. Lysander smiled down at her, feeling a tiny bit better. "I use to belong to your species." He felt the considerably warmth from her hand and sighed, feeling content. Even while wearing a coat, he could still feel how soft her lips were when they kissed his arm.

She raised an eyebrow at his description. "I think you're exaggerating. But I'm flattered, so you're welcome to exaggerate." She smiled. She leaned back against her seat and sighed. "I feel like...like if I have anything at all, any virtue or beauty, it's not me, it's what everyone else has made of me. It's because my mom was a good mother. So if I take credit for it, it's wrong...like plagarism. It's not fair to my mom's memory to take credit for her making so much of me in the little time we had, if I'm truly such an amazing person," she said. She sighed, and looked at the clouds. It looked like the sun was just about to break. She heard his voice from far away, as if she were underwater. "Yes, you were a part of my species," she murmured absently. "The sun might come out...what does that mean for you?" she asked gently, turning back to Lysander. A few rays of sun soaked through the window and hit her eyes, lighthing their green flecks ablaze and bringing out the copper bits in her hair. She shattered the image by blinking away from the bright light.

He smiled down at her. "She sounds amazing, your mother," he said honestly. Lysander thought back to his own mother. The way she smiled when he got the numerous A's on his math tests. The way she talked about his father, how alike they were. The way she brought him a glass of milk every night before bed. He let out a breath as sunlight hit Adriana, making her glow. "It doesn't hurt me or anything like that. It's just...wanna see later?" He asked, wanting to know what her reaction would be when the sun would hit his skin. "It's nothing scary or anything, I promise...are we almost there?" He had been going straight for some time now.

Adriana grinned with true happiness, something she did rarely. "Yeah. She was pretty amazing." And she was. She had been the best person Adriana knew. Suddenly her somber mood was broken my her barely contained excitement. She turned in her seat and looked at him. "You'll really show me? Is it spectacular?" she asked, bouncing up and down on the seat like a four year old. But then he distracted her. "Oh, right, take this right," she said, and they turned onto the sandy road to first beach.

He turned onto a sandy road, his eyes could make out the waves of the oceans from where he was. Lysander laughed at Adriana's childish excitement. "Yes, if you want of course. And as for being spectacular, I'll just say you won't be disappointed. It's completely different from any and all vampire literature and movies." He smiled at her and parked in a small lot designated for only five cars.

Adriana couldn't sit still. The instant the car stopped and Lysander pulled out the keys, she grabbed his hand and dragged him through the sparse forest on the edge of the beach, taking care to stay in the trees. Leading him down to the secluded spot with the tide pools, where no one could see them, she kept her eyes closed and turned around. Then she opened them.
She gasped. Every inch of him sparkled like crystal...or diamond...or something even more perfect extraordinary. She cupped his face with her hand, taking care to stand a little bit back, she didn't want to crowd him. She traced down his neck, his chest, and slid her hand under his shirt. Too modest to try anything, she only traced his shoulder under the fabric before retracting her hand again. She couldn't look away from him...didn't want to...couldn't bear to...

Lysander held her hand tightly as she led him through the forest quickly. Then she stopped. They, more specifically he was in the bare sunlight. She turned around to face him. She opened her closed eyes. It was his turn to close his eyes when her hand reached up to his cheek. As she redrew her hand leaving a trail of heat in it's wake, he took off his coat then his sweater. He now wore only a white t-shirt as he opened his eyes again. He frowned. "I'm scaring you aren't I?" He asked. Her eyes were practically bulging out of their sockets.

Adriana watched him in wonder, reluctant to take her hand from his body. She shook her head. "No...not scaring me...dazzling me. Rendering me breathless. That sort of thing." She coudn't smile, he was to beautiful. She tried a smile. It was all she could do, and she couldn't even stand next to him really. She felt herself almost deformed in his presence. She took off her own coat and sweater--it was warm in the sunlight--and understandably left her tank top on. She traced his arms, his hands. She sat down, so as to immerse herself more completely, dragging him down with her. "So beautiful..." she murmured. It was ridiculous, insane, that someone like him should even exist. The alternative was admittedly unbearable, but he simply tipped the scales too much...it wasn't fair, surely this glorious creature was not meant for her.

He sat cross-legged in front of her. She was so stunned by him, which surprised him to no end. "You know, you're the first human to ever see me like this. I've hid in the dark because I thought people would be scared of me...but you're not scared...I love you Adriana." After he had fled from home he went towards the mountain. The first time he discovered his skin could do this, it was the first time as a vampire to see sunlight. He had thought himself a monster. But now...no, I am a monster. I can't stop forgetting that that. I can't stop thinking that I'm not a monster. Because if I stop thinking that way then... He sighed as he laid back on the ground, stretching out his legs and clasping his hands together neatly on his stomach. His eyes were closed when he asked, "What are you thinking?"
