The evening had just barely begun to spread itself out against the sky, the western horizon still on fire. Or it would be, if there weren't so many clouds and trees in the way. A young girl of about average height and build wandered alone down the sidewalk through Forks. Her dark hair was left long and loose. She was clad in a simple pair of blue-jeans, a blue and green plaid button-up top, and a pair of mary janes. Eerily bright azure eyes scanned the area for anything remotely interesting, but there was nothing to be found. Eventually, she wandered into the park and sat down on a bench near the brush. A small child played alone on the swingset and she watched him, silent and unmoving. The little boy didn't seem to notice her presence.

She was happy to be here tonight. Happy, she kept reminding herself. I'm happy,. Blond hair, entirely too perky for her, swept across her face. Looking to a creaking swingset, she saw a dark form beside it, the outline interlapping with that of a bench. The scent told Tori all she needed to know. Silent as moonbeams, she crept up to the girl gingerly. Was it who she thought it was? There'd been so much blood...she hadn't known if she'd survived...
Her voice was petrified. "Jamie?"

Jamie still had not appeared to move a single muscle. With her pale skin, she looked more like a marble statue than a human being. But then again, she wasn't human anymore, was she? As she continued to follow the lone child's progress, she began to become more and more of a predator. But still she did not strike. And suddenly an all-too-familiar voice issued from very close by and the entire scene shattered.
"Tori?" she said incredulously. She could hardly remember what happened to the others. Nearly all of her time had been spent with Laurent since she'd been turned. She sat and gaped, unable to say anything more.

{i'm trying to find a color i like XD} She ran and hugged the fellow vampire, and a crash sounded from the hard collision of their granite skins. She turned and lookd into Jamie's eyes with her newly enhanced night vision. She traced her cheek softly. "Oh Jamie...you're beautiful." And it was true...she was more beautiful then Tori had ever seen her. She turned and looked at the little boy. His mom would be coming for him in 10 seconds. She shrugged at Tori. "Next time, maybe," she said nonchalantly, internally repressing a shudder at the thought of draining another corpse of blood. She looked back at Jamie and held out a hand. "You wanna tell me how it's been for you?"

Jamie gripped Tori's arm as she hugged her and layed her head down on her shoulder for a moment. "Oh, you are too," she replied quietly. It seemed that every tiny imperfection that had ever been in Tori's appearance was utterly gone. She was trying to hide the fact that she was starting to cry, but she could feel her eyes welling up with tears, and as she looked through them, everything had a faint red-ish color. It seemed that what Laurent had said was true. They were blood tears. But she hastily wiped them away and forced a small smile as she looked back at Tori and took her hand. "Oh, I'm alright!" she answered quickly, "How are you? Are the boys ok?"

Tori was almost tempted to tell her friend to cry as hard as she could, because after those blood tears ran out they wouldn't be able to cry anymore. She stroked Jamie's cold back softly, smiling through the waves of newly perfect gold hair that flew across her face. "I'm alright, just, you know, wanting to attack every human being that passes me by," she said. She tucked Jamie's hair behind her ears. "As far as I know, Spencer's alright. But I don't know about Freddie--I just haven't heard from him. I'm sure he's fine though, I swear." She had seen the blood brimming on her friends eyes and knew that tears would occur in 2 seconds, and rushed to soothe her. "I'm sure he's fine. You know Freddie, he'd make fun of death as it came to get him."

Jamie pressed the corners of her eyes to stop the tears from gushing, mostly because the idea of the red tears streaming down her face absolutely horrified her. She straightened back up then and looked Tori while listened to her speak. She nodded then, relieved to hear that they seemed to be alright. She could help but to bite her lip slightly at the last few words, however. "I know! He's so stupid!" she attempted to reply without shouting. And then she was temporarily destracted as her former potential prey's mother came and left with him. "Damn it. You were right. How did you do that?"she whispered incredulously.

She paused for a second. Considering that the two were now newborn vampires, she didn't think her newfound power was all that much of a stretch in terms of belief. She stuttered it out. "Well, you know how I could always spot anything, like, a dime on the street corner? Well now I can see everything, before it happens. Like, you're going to run a hand through your hair and then your eyes will widen and you're going to part your lips...see? It's a little creepy, and sometimes annoying, but an advantage. Especially with hunting." She shrugged. "Have you noticed anything...strange with you?"

Jamie listened intently to every word that Tori spoke, finding the whole thing quite fascinating. And just as just as she finished speaking, Jamie absentmindedly ran a hand through her hair, and then realizing what had just happened, her eyes widened incredulously her lips parted in amazement. She blinked before saying, "Cool..." After hearing the question, she had to think about it for a moment before immediately realizing what it was, "Well, you know how I used always be really good at solving equations and stuff like that? I'm about 10 times better at it now. I don't really know how I'll benefit from that, but I do think a lot faster, which is handy, I suppose..."

Tori shrugged. "We always told you that AP Calc was useless, but did you listen...nooooo." She trailed off with a smile. She was elated just to find that her friend had survived the transformation. She shrugged. "Wonder if Spence or Freddie got anything? It's almost like fate's bargaining with us, you know? Like, "I'll take your life, but you can be psychic, or an Einstein, and incredibily beautiful in return. No harm done." She chuckled darkly. "I have to say, fate doesn't drive a hard bargain." She'd gotten much more cynical in the past few weeks. She couldn't help it. What was a beautiful vampire without a dry sense of humor?

"Most likely," she answered Tori's question softly. It wasn't really that hard to imagine what sorts of abilities her other two friends had gained, but she was curious. And more than that, she missed them as well and was still quite worried, despite Tori's reassurances. After listening silently to the girl's musings, Jamie muttered darkly, "I'm not so confident that fate had anything to do with it... Spending a lot of time alone with no one but Laurent to keep me company has given me quite a lot of time to reflect on life and all it's random injustice."

Tori shrugged, every bit as confused as Jamie. "Random chance? Maybe. I had always thought that applied to the mundane and not to the extraordinary." She wasn't sure in the end. However, having seen how calculating their trio of captors was, she refused to believe they themselves had been picked for this fate inadvertently. It was almost as if they had been hired--Tori had grown calm enough to simply accept her fate as a vampire--to do a job. And why would Victoria hire someone who wouldn't be an asset to the team? It was harsh to think of it this way, now that their human essence was deeply locked away forever, but it was true. They were chosen for this. She sighed. "I know you're not alright, but what's up with Laurent? I don't get the idea he's like the other two."

Jamie hadn't given much thought to the reason why she had been chosen to be turned. She had figured it was because her friends had been chosen, and she was just with them. This was probably do to the fact that Laurent was clearly less enthusiastic about creating killers than James and Victoria were. She was quiet for a moment before answering, "Well, I can't really say I know very much about the other two, so I'm not really sure how different he is. He's manipulative and charming and scary. And he likes to talk a lot. But he doesn't seem as... brutal and mindless as the others. He frightens me quite a lot." But she had to admit, as much as she feared Laurent, she had a certain amount of respect for him. And then she asked, "What is Victoria like? She doesn't hurt you does she?"

I leaned my head back. "Ah, Jamie, don't worry 'bout me, okay? Victoria...she's something else. Cruel...feral, wild even...she reminds me of a rabid lion or something like that. She terrifies me. But seriously James? I don't think anvils could hurt us now. We're her assests. She wanted us for a reason. She won't damage her property, now will she?" I raised a single eyebrow, a characteristic I'd just discovered I could now perform. "Look, in any case, we can't stage a rebellion now. She's smarter than we are. Besides, what do we have to run to?"

The white tiger was standing in the shadows of the small forest beside the park, it's ears pointed forward listening eagerly to the conversation that was taking place. The tiger seemed to smile. Wow so Victoria has rustled up some newborns, she thought. Gifted ones!
The blondes powers interested Courtney, The ability to see seconds in front of time was amazing. I wonder has Victoria spoken of me thought happily. She didn't think Victoria would, Courtney thought that Victoria had forgotten about her.
The tiger jumped forward out of the shadows wondering if the blonde had seen this coming. She let the tiger slip and become her normal self. She walked gracefully up to the girls, she took a quick glance round, humans would proably see what had happened at a trick of the light or their imagination but these girls would know better.
Courtney smiled at them, "Well hello newborns." She said, She pointed to the blonde, "Sorry but you small of Victoria and you ... " She pointed to the other one "Smell of Laurent. No offence or anything" She allowed herself to laugh. "I've met them you know. Victoria's a nasty piece of work but you'll get used to her, you're right you know, she does need you."
Courtney stood back waiting to see what their rreaction would be, to her appearing, and to her ramblings.
