ACT I
In the small, quaint town of Forks, Washington, everything is normal. Normal as possible for Forks, anyway, with it's trouble magnet Bella and its family of vampires, the Cullens. Not to mention the werewolf pack living down in the La Push reserve by the beach, the Quileute tribe. Regardless of the usual for the little town, unnatural things have ceased to happen for a while now. The threat of outside vampires (with the looming exception of the Italian Volturi coven still waiting for Isabella to be changed into a vampire) is extinguished, and all seems well.
Of course, Bella still hasn't gotten her wish--To become a vampire. And neither has Edward, which is, of course, to marry Bella...before she turns immortal by his teeth.
Grudgingly, Bella agrees to marry Edward so that he might be happy before she gets what she wants. The prospect, meaning the idea of her trying to act graceful for a very important day in her life while still human, is frightening to her, but nonetheless she resolves to endure for her future husband's sake. And, of course, Alice was more than excited to be the wedding planner, in charge of mostly everything and assisted by her family. Bella was happy to stay away and have nothing to do with the planning, thankfully. Everything was going as planned.
ACT II
The town of Forks, with the vampire and werewolf populations nonexistent to their ignorant human minds, accepted this exciting event with glee and jubilation. Although Alice was expressly told only to make this a small spectacle, there were at least 100 guests coming, if not more. Bella, obviously, was not told of anyone she wouldn't have immediately thought of. Jacob did not keep in contact, so whether he would be attending as best man was yet to be determined. Bella waited, and prayed. With the day ticking closer, she lost hope.
However, the day of the wedding came, and Jacob was there, ready to be best man. Bella was ecstatic, convinced that her wedding was now perfect, with everyone she loved just where they were meant to be. The celebration went as planned, and she became Mrs. Edward Cullen.Sorry, fangirls.
But would this jubilation hold?
ACT III
Bella's side of the deal completed, it was now Edward's turn to make her dream come true. Reluctantly, the date was set, and the time ticked down closer. Bella kept a close eye on the calendar, nervous about some things and excited about the prospect of beginning her immortal life with Edward forever. Soon it was only a week away...
...Five days...
...Two...
...It was time, and at the request of Edward, Bella was given large amounts of morphine and laid down to be bitten by Edward. Anxiously, he made sure she was comfortable and that she absolutely wanted to be changed before sucking in his breath, returning her smile weakly, and bending down to bite her arm so that she would be his forever.
His teeth sunk into her flesh, and Bella sucked in air with pain, which seemed to trigger several events at once.
First, there was a blinding flash of white light.
Second, Edward and the rest of the Cullens fell to the floor.
Third, Bella sat up straight.
Fourth, she was now in a forest.
She did not know how. Where was she? She hadn't moved from her place on the bed. Why, then, was she now laying on the damp ground of a forest floor (that, oddly, looked like the forest next to Forks in the mountains)?
Suddenly, a soft voice from behind called her name. She blinked and turned around, and she was back in the Cullen's house, laying on the same bed she had before.
No one else had memory of being transported anywhere.
Now, vampires, humans, and werewolves alike in the Forks/La Push area find themselves in the odd forest-like area (also called The Span) at random times, wandering aimlessly. The forest has no end. The time spent in the Span can range from a second to a few days, but everyone is vulnerable to being transported at any time, and then reappearing in the real world later on.
Will you disappear next?
