Character Name:Esme Anne Cullen (Used to be Esme Anne Platt and Esme Anne Evenson
Status:Vegetarian Vampire
RPG Sample:
Esme placed her arm across her stomach and grabbed her other arm above the elbow. How she hated it when her kids fought. She sobbed those tearless sobs that only a vampire could know. She would never cry in front of the others, not that tears would come to her if she tried. She had to pull herself together. Esme was the mother, the "rock" of the family. She would never allow herself to burden the others with her pain, it was against her nature. It was better to keep silent about it.
Esme remembered back to when she was first turned. After so many years of abuse from Charles, the man she had married before Carlisle, she wasn't readily willing to trust Carlisle. She was in pain, but she wouldn't allow herself to show it. Back then, it was for the reason that she didn't trust him. Now, it was because the family needed her to be strong. In truth, the family would have understood. Esme didn't really need to build up this wall to protect herself, it was just a safety net. Carlisle had been so patient and understanding. From the moment she was turned to now and far into the future, Esme knew he would always remain that way towards her.
Carlisle would be home soon. Esme hated to let Carlisle see her like this. He would know instantly that something was wrong. After all these years, it didn’t take Edward’s abilities for Carlisle to know what she was thinking. Carlisle would notice that Esme wasn't her warm and welcoming self.
Esme straightened up and wiped her face. An old habit from being a human girl. There was no need to dry vampire tears, as she couldn’t shed any. Old habits die hard. She remembered breaking her leg, the event that had allowed her to meet Carlisle in the first place. She had been so embarrassed to cry in front of him. Now, as a vampire, while he couldn’t see her tears, it didn’t make any difference. She still hated to cry in front of anyone.
Esme straightened her dress, trying to smoothen the already non-existent wrinkles. It was then that her ears picked up on the sound of Carlisle’s car in the driveway. She pulled herself together. Carlisle was in the house in an instant, it was that vampire speed of his. Esme greeted him at the door.
“Hello,” she said, placing her arms around his neck, “I missed you.” Even if he didn’t know how the boys had fought earlier, she could still gather emotional support from him, just as the rest of the family could gather support from her.
