God she hated this, usually she didn't mind chemistry but to day was theroy. In her old school she had taken a liking to this subject and had researched it. She knew everything th teachers was writing on the board. She had done it like five times over, top marks for her piece in her old school, why oh why was this happening to her.
She looked around, she class room was nearly full now, only a few spaces were left now. One of these spaces was beside her, so far she hadn't noticed any of the new pupils but there was always a change one of them would interupt the lesson.
This class was sooo boring, everyone around her looked as if they were taking notes. Claire dived into her bag and took out her work from her ols school and set it on the desk. She folded her arms and set them on the desk, she then put her head on her arms, she glanced up at the teachers and tried to focus on what she was saying.

Figure it out Boy you're tripping so pull yourself together Or you'll wash up like the rest Cause this ship is sinking I'm thinking "i'm done for" I'm watching the sails disappear underwater Cause i'm no captain yet
Victoria sauntered into class. The bell had tolled a decent while ago, but since she had a pass the orange-haired vampire had no reason to hurry. Besides, what was so important in Chemistry that couldn't wait? As she entered through the classroom door, she promptly went over to the teacher and all but shoved the pass into his grasp. Victoria flashed him her new schedule and without waiting for a word a approval, went to the back of the room for an empty seat. As if she was actually going to sit up from where she would have to pretend to care. Victoria wasn't exactly the image of a perfect student, nor did she intend on trying to create such a picture of herself. It wasn't worth her time or effort, as far as she was concerned.
When she took her seat next to a unfamiliar looking blond girl, Victoria didn't even bother to feign the act of taking notes as the teacher began to lecture once more, regrouping after her unwelcome interruption. Instead of paying attention to the teacher as he droned on in his monotone, Victoria studied the human next to her with a harsh stare. She didn't even bother to try to hide her rude staring, although her lack of manners didn't bother her in the smallest sense.
The girl seemed to be trying to pay attention to the dull teacher, although it seemed as if she was failing just as miserably at remaining attentive as Victoria was. The thought created a small smirk to form on Victoria's feline-like features. With a quick glance the vampire realized that the girl already had notes in front of her, even on things the teacher had yet to write on the board.
"New here?" Victoria guessed, finding it necessary to make her assumptions concrete.

Claire gaze must have hazed as she didn't even notice the the flame haired girl come into the class room. She only noticed when the girl had sat down beside her. Was it possible that she has fallen asleep. She glanced up at the board to find it had alot more notes on it.
The flame haired girl was staring at her she could sense it, she risked a glance but regreted at, her stare was cold, not at all welcoming. She looked back at the teacher, maybe she wouldn't speak, she tried to focus on the teacher but she grew bored again, it was the same old rubbish. "New here?" She had spoken. Claire forced herslef to look at the flame haired girl sitting beside her, she had forgotten about the teacher. "Not really. I came in the middle of last year. Are you new?"

The human's response at first perplexed the intrusive vampire. Her eyes inconspicuously flipped toward the human's notes, making sure they were in fact notes for the class rather than some notebook filled with whatever humans talked about that was shared between friends. Victoria had noticed some blond girl in her second period class doing such an activity. Apparently some kid same Josh was staring at her in lunch the otherday... It was all rather trivial to Victoria, although admittedly it was worth a good laugh and something to occupy herself with. So the notebook in question must have been from her old school, Victoria concluded, not bothering to bring it up. The solution worked in her situation, and she didn't need to be denied what she thought was truth once more. The poor girl must have already taken the class at her former school.
Imagine sitting through this torture twice.
So entranced by her own thoughts, Victoria seemed to forget that the girl's comment required a response. A short amount of time had passed (only a few minutes at most) but nonetheless it seemed awkward with a long pause of silence in between dialogue. But if it bothered Victoria, she didn't let it show in her face or the composition of her words. Then again, what a human girl thought of her didn't exactly amount to much as far as Victoria was concerned. A person normally doesn't care what a potential meal thinks of its predator.
"Oh. Yeah. I'm new," answered Victoria, giving the girl an obvious once over with her prodding burgundy eyes. This was how she filled her time through this ongoing classes: by prying into others personal lives and intruding in matters that really didn't concern her.

Her last coment didn't follow with a question as she hoped it would, and she didn't want her attention to drift to the teachers dull words again, last time she tried she fell asleep.
Claire said the only thing that came to mind that would stop the silence. "Must be hard being the new gir;, I've seen alot of new people come into the school this year."
She frowned and looked at the flame haired girl sitting next to her. "They all pretty must look the same, well, same cloured skin, same sort of general appearance if you know what I mean."
It was strange, why was she just noticing this now, she should of picked up on it before, her skills in these things must be slipping.

"Not really," responded Victoria nonchalantly with an effortless shrug for show. It was difficult to make fitting into a new social scene difficult when one didn't care what their peers thought of them. Although, in reality, Victoria's new classmates could never be considered her peers since she was several decades their senior.
"No. I don't know what you mean," sharply responded Victoria, immediately jumping to a defensive tone over the subject. It seemed to the volatile vampire that the human girl was implying she looked just like the other new kids, who Victoria knew to be vampires who sustained themselves from the blood of animals. She refused to be linked to any such creature. Victoria considered the pathetic creatures to be a disgrace to the vampire race. She didn't particularly mind them until they started messing with her meals though or picking fights. Especially on her hunting grounds. That's when they were just asking for the claws to come out and for Victoria to sharpen her tongue.
Victoria was quite a sight while she was fueled by her anger. Her entire body had subconsciously tensed as if she was about to fend off some blow. Her facial features had especially tightened, giving Victoria the illusion of having even sharper features. Despite the startling beauty the vampire possessed, her expression was one that would inflict fear in an unfamiliar face. Her fact resembled that even more of a feline at that moment while her dark burgundy eyes glimmered dangerously. Victoria could barely bite back the growl in her throat as she tried to recollect herself in the presence of the human girl. It wouldn't be good to made a huge scene in the middle of the teacher's lecture, although, admittedly, it would have made the class at least a little bit me interesting.

Claire flinched at her tone of voice, she had obviously touch a sensitive subject with the falme haired girl sitting next to her.
She watched uncertain of herself as the girl tensed her whole body. She didn't know what to say, how to make it better, she must of thought I was comparing her to them, in some way, she had to think of something, she didn't want the leason to be like this, it was hard enough that the teacher was boring but to have someone so tence beside you, the whole way through the leason.
"Not that I'm comparing you to them, you are far more ... more ...," Claire shook her head trying to come up with the words "Beautiful, stunning."

The orange-haired vampire relaxed. Victoria chuckled as a smug grin came to her features. The vampire leaned back into her chair as her hands went to the back of her neck and promptly fluffed her hair. The human girl had successfully stroked the vampire's ego. Victoria was never a particularly vain girl, although she didn't need to be with such a firmly set image of herself in her mind. Being the most beautiful girl in a room didn't matter much to her, but that didn't lessen her own self image. She was startlingly pretty as far as she was concerned and anyone who begged to differ was making a large mistake. Fueled by the girl's compliments, the orange-haired vampire's pale hand instinctively went to her curly orange hair. Gently, her fingers probed at her curls before giving the human girl a small grin.
"Why thank you," responded the vampire, feigning innocence over the matter. She played it off as if she hadn't just practically forced the human girl to compliment her by way of taking her words back. It was part of Victoria's manipulative nature: an ability that, a century and a half later, she had honed to the point of almost perfection. It came in handy on more occasion than one too.
"Yeah. I've heard the rumors flying. For such a little town, gossip does seem to move fast. The new students -the Cullens, aren't they?-, it seems everyone has a lot to say about them. Have you met them?" prodded Victoria, her head tilting slightly with curiosity. She was prying into what she hoped would bring new and valuable information into her midst. It was more like stabbing into the dark, but it was worth a shot. What did she have to lose, after all?

Claire relaxed as the flame hair girl relaxed, She had recovered from her sticky situation. Then she thought back to the time in the forest not so long ago. She had went in the forest because Folks was boring her and she needed to stay close to her house.
"The Cullens ... I've met one of them." She glanced up at the teacher, who was still droning on while he was writing on the board. "Rosalie Hale. Well she lives with the Cullens." She shrugged and looked back at the flame haired girl. "I didn't catch your name, what is it?"

"Ah," sighed Victoria. Her voice was reminiscent of past memories. In that moment she sounded more like one of the phony fortune tellers than the fiery spirit her voice usually portrayed. "Rosalie. Yes, the pretty one, right? Know anything about her?" Differentiating between the Cullens by calling one of them 'pretty' was like saying, 'yes, I want the fish that swims.' Being vampires gave the Cullens the physical ability to be extremely alluring to the human sub-species. But Victoria hoped the meaning wouldn't be lost on the human, although maybe she was expecting too much from the girl. When it came to humans, the orange-haired vampire's standards weren't extremely high.
The Cullens were a blur to Victoria. As far as she was concerned, with their judging golden eyes, they all looked the same. She recalled telling that to the annoying one with the even more annoying gift of reading minds (Edgar was it?) once while she was in the forest hunting. The confrontation had ended in the quick exchanging of blows. It, obviously, had been an extremely sensitive subject which lead Victoria to believe he had heard it on more occasion than one. It was just those startling gold eyes. No, if he was sensible and had the standard burgundy ones in place of his goody-goody gold ones, he would stand out more. To humans, gold might have seemed more friendly and convincing, but to Victoria it screamed fake.
Sometimes the truth hurts. Poor thing, Victoria mused spitefully as a wicked grin played on her features.
Victoria bit back the automatic comment that flew to her ready lips. The human didn't catch her name because she had yet to give it to her. Originally, Victoria had no intention of informing the girl of her name, but what could it hurt? Besides, it wasn't like it was some secret affair in a public school. It would be written on records, attendance rolls and all sorts of other unimaginable things. When it came to humans, they seemed to write everything down. Vampires tended to leave their glory to word of mouth.
"Victoria."

"I would of said the prettiest girl in school," She paused then faced the front so she couldn't see her reacation, "Until I met you. I didn't hear an awful lot about her, she did say that the forests were haunted of something and she likes to skip school, oh and she was sitting in a tree that no normal person would be able to reach, not to say that she isn't normal."
She looked back at the flame haired girl, "Victoria, that is a wonderful name, I'm Claire by the way."

Victoria nodded slightly, obviously amused with the brown nosing human attitude the human was currently entertaining. This was the sort of thing Victoria could get used to from humans. If they were more in awe or fear of her than actually seeing her as an equal, than all was well.
"Very vain girl, she is," commented Victoria with a slight nod. It was a poorly executed attempt to make the human feel more comfortable, but instead it came off as if Victoria was simply exhibiting her dislike for the beautiful blond vampire. Socializing and consequently manipulating vampires was something Victoria had grown accustomed to over the decades. After all, it was her job to be able to glean information from others about the coven's chosen targets. Yet, humans were a completely different territory, as far as she was concerned. A whole new world to manipulation. Whereas vampires tended to be less fearful of her and more open to her twisted opinions and teasing actions, humans were a more delicate subject. With their instincts screaming get away, they proved more different to manipulate effectively. Of course getting in their face and yelling was always an option, but breaking a human mentally wasn't one of the best things to do when one's trying to gain information from them.
"Odd family, they are. Wouldn't you say? Can you imagine having all those adopted siblings? But at least the boys are hot." This was Victoria's pathetic attempt to further a connection between herself and the human girl. Failing as she believed she was, Victoria wasn't willing to abandon ship so easily. In the back of her mind, a small voice found it amusing how quickly her mood changed when it came to getting things she wanted. Victoria could go from visibly irritated to hiding any source of emotion on three seconds flat. It was an uncanny gift.

"Yeah your right she is vain. Always worry about looks, I don't really care ... much, I don't wear make up or anything like that, I just worry about my hair sometimes." She stopped now she sounded vain, in away.
"They are odd, they're all adopted, going out with each other, and all look the same, same eyes, skin tone of sorts. But Edward is lovely but not my type. Is he your type, I've seen him with that Bella girl a few times."

Victoria's head nodded slightly at the girl's assessment of the situation. Of course the real story wasn't quite as preposterous as their fake one the human's entertained for the sake of the humans. After all, each addition to the family was for the prospect of a companion. Well, for the most part at least. Or at least that was what Victoria had managed to piece together over the years.
"Oh. That Bella girl isn't much of his type either. Trust me," commented Victoria with a wry grin plastered on her bright red lips. With the under text of her words so obvious to any creature that knew their true nature -not that any other vampires were nearby as far as Victoria knew-, she just couldn't fight the expression of sadistic enjoyment, not that it was a particularly foreign thing to see pasted on the orange-haired vampires face.
"But he's not my type either," amended Victoria as she rested her chin on her right hand that was propped against the table and clenched in a tight fist. If the teacher ever bothered to look toward the back of the classroom, he would notice the boredom that was radiating from Victoria. Honestly, science had no part in her life as far as the orange-haired vampire was concerned. What good would it do her anyway when it came to hunting humans? "Too nice, that boy is. Short temper, though. Not to mention I'm afraid he's not too fond of my family," mentioned Victoria with a reminiscent sparkle in her burgundy eyes. Oh, how enjoyable it was to taunt the Cullen boy, especially now that he had the human thing attached to him at his hip that he was so fond of. One comment about her safety and it was like you had held a gun up to the girl's head. It really was quite amusing, no matter how dangerous the work was.

"She isn't his type?" She paused but they were barely apart, they seemed besotted with each other, "But they're never apart." She shook her head.
She looked up at the teacher who was STILL trying to explain to the pupils what he was trying to say. She listened for a few seconds picking up what he was talking about, already she sensed the fustration building inside her, "There is more than one type of bonding, bonding between two non-metals and the bondind between a metal and a non-metal. Covalent and Ionic. Each one had it's own strengths and weaknesses." She said almost to herself but aloud enough for the whole class to hear.
The teacher stared at her, obviously un-happy that she proved to explain it better than he had. She shrugged and put her head on the table looking at Victoria.
"Would I get on with your family?" She asked after the teacher had started talking again.
