Silence. This was normal for Carlisle, or any vampire who was preparing for the hunt. He sat up on a rather large boulder, right on the border of the Hoh River. He still in a a peculiar stance. One knee bent out in front of him with his arms rested on it while the other was on the ground. He sat there with his coal black eyes now closed and his body stiller than a statue. Instinct was beginning to take over.
It wasn't hard to sense the world around him. His heightened senses told him absolutely everything around him, this was just one of everyday normalities, well for a vampire of course. His mind focused on sorting throughout all the smells quickly, pine, earth, a few birds, a herd of deer and a grizzly bear. Grizzly would make a nice meal, but he settled for the pack of deer which only around 100 yards down the river. Common sense and eperiance told him now was the perfect time to strike. They were drinking from the river, meaning they were distracted and not on guard.
Carlisle opened his eyes officially beginning the hunt. He disappeared in faster than the blink of an eye. He was running of course, too fast for human eyes to see. He ran, gracefully of course, taking long strides, to minimize the already minimal noise level of his run. The forest and all it's tiny details were still visible to him, which he needed to carefully avoid the trees, limbs and rocks. But still, this was second nature to him and thus, paid a small amount of attention to his surroundings. He did slow down though, as he homed in own his target, a buck, largest of the herd. Without any thought, he pounced. He snapped the buck's neck, too quick to give it time to react or feel the pain. The rest of the herd quickly jolted away as soon as their minds had full realization of what was going on. It wasn't too hard for their instincts though, it was simply a kill.
Despite the deer being an animal, he still gave sympathy for it. A life was still a life, no matter what body the soul was in, Carlisle fully understood this concept. It was one of the things he had pondered about a long time before. He still though, had no choice. He completely rejected the idea of being a monster with glaring red eyes and taking the lives of humans, who had so much more to live for. He thought of this as he sunk his teeth into the buck and began drinking the blood.
He quickly finished the animal and stood up, staring down at the drained carcass. He wiped the blood from his lips. As usual there was no need to dispose of the deer. If his senses were correct, and they were almost always were, a scavenger would smell the carcass and come and pick at the remains. He stepped over to the river and washed his hands in the river. The black in his eyes had almost completely faded back to their normal golden color and were still continuing to brighten up.
Carlisle froze for a moment as instincts faded, his mind became dominant once more. His mind registered all his senses as he heard nearly inaudible footsteps. Human? No, he would have smelled the scent, even though it would barely noticed it. He stood back up and turned around with a slight smile on his face. It didn't matter who it was, friend or stranger, it was always a good thing to be friendly.

It seemed as if she was always walking through the forest, alone or with Jacob. Though they rarely came to the forest together. Mainly, they stayed in. But still, she seemed to come here a lot. It was the best place to think. But to think about what? Well, everything. From her feeding habits to her life. She sighed, walking through a clearing in the brush, seeing a group of deer. She scrunched her nose at the scent, walking the other way.
She felt weird being around animals. She was supposed to feed off of them, but she didn't. Well, technically, being a vampire meant feeding off of humans, which she did.. sort of. If you counted blood bags. She sighed again, walking further away from the deer. That is, until she smelled something. She smelled a vampire. It was a male. The testosterone was.. well lets say you could smell it. Well, a vampire could at least. It wasn't very obscure.
She waited a moment, not moving. Silently, she got closer back to the deer, watching as the vampire fed off of one. Her thoughts were kept empty, in case this vampire could hear them. She watched as the buck was drained completely, now a lifeless carcass. She walked around the brush, coming up behind the vampire.
She knew that he'd heard her. After all, he had turned around. But why was he smiling? She didn't say anything, she simply watched him, waiting to see what he'd do. She hoped he was a friendly vampire. She'd heard of others that weren't exactly.. ''nice.'' And she didn't want to run into them. She knew if she did, it wouldn't end well.
They were about 20 feet apart, but she knew that he could get to her in a matter of seconds if he wanted, so there was no use in moving closer or going away. She felt awkward just standing there, so she crossed her arms, a slight smile played across her lips as she waited for him to speak. Thankfully, she hadn't fed recently, so her eyes weren't red. She didn't want him knowing of her feeding habits right away.

"Ah, I didn't see you there for a moment." Carlisle said after the visitor walked into plain sight. He took the silence after he talked to recognize her features. Blonde, about average size, beautiful of course, but with coal black eyes, typical for a hungry vampire. He couldn't tell what her diet was, but it didn't look like she was too interested in the deer carcass that he had just killed, but who would interested in vampire tofu?
He walked a few steps forward at a human pace in order to introduce himself. He kept a small distance though, just keeping the possibility in mind that she might turn on him.
"Hello, I am Carlisle Cullen and Who might you be?.." He said with a welcoming voice, hoping she would warm up. He offered a hand out, with another slight smile, unsure on whether she would take it or not. Either way, it was a very good thing to give a good first impression, especially since that would shape the way their relationship turned out and the fact that vampires happened to have very good memories.

She heard him speak, but she didn't say anything. She watched him move closer. He seemed to be moving slow. Though it was only at human pace. Seeing his hand stretch out, she hesitated, reaching her own out. Carlisle.. she thought. Rare name.. Yet interesting. she thought to herself, giving him a warm smile. I'm Camille. she didn't say her last name, though. She didn't feel the need to. Not yet at least. She noticed that whenever she met someone, they said hello, and their name. What was with that? All you needed was your name. Camille never said hello unless she already knew the person. It felt strange to her for some reason, yet she didn't know why.

"It's a pleasure to meet you" Carlisle said, shaking her hand, acting too formal as usual. He then took it back and rested it at his side. Camille Carlisle thought unaware that she was actually thinking about his name as well. Must have been a newborn not too long ago...And his thoughts trailed on. He spoke not too long after his last sentence, making sure not to bring on periods of silence. He had one important question to ask her though, so he said it early in the conversation.
"You don't seem very interested in animals and you are thirsty." Carlisle said. "If you hunt humans, could you restrain yourself from hunting around Forks and La Push? It's for maintaining my coven's secrecy of course. I hope you understand."
He focused back on his thoughts while he waited for a response. It would be rather complicated if a vampire bit a human around here. Especially with the werewolves claiming their territory once more. He quickly cut off his thoughts after that, keeping his thoughts on Camille and not letting himself think of the scene at the hospital if somebody bitten had come in. It wasn't too polite to wander off instead of paying attention to a new acquaintance anyway.

She smiled, shaking his hand as he shook hers, then bringing it back, crossing her arms once more. She could hear his thoughts, and smile. Only if you count 7 years ago 'Not too long ago,' she thought, smiling. She shrugged again once Carlisle spoke. As he continued, she looked down, remembering Jacob. I can't hunt humans. Ja.. she stopped. She was about to say 'Jacob would kill me.' but she didn't. Surely he knew that Jacob was a werewolf. After all, Jacob had talked about the cullens, though she couldn't remember what they'd say.
She sighed, looking away. She didn't know what else to say. How did one go about explaining that you weren't a Vegetarian vampire, yet you fed off humans? She didn't know what he'd think about her and her donated blood. She also knew that she couldn't tell him about Jacob. They weren't even supposed to be together. She looked back up at him, wondering what he'd say.

In the thick, thick electric air There's a cloud of smoke ascending Blocking the city lights
Rosalie was lingering in the extensive backyard of the Cullen's house, although for one reason or another she refused to wander too far from the porch. She wasn't sure just what her objective was, but it was a pleasant change from the familiar surroundings of the house. Lately, Rosalie hadn't been in the best of moods. Well, that was an understatement if there ever was one, but nonetheless, the beautiful blond vampire didn't make the best company currently with all the dramatics that surrounded her family and friends.
However, before her mind could fall victim to the flood of confusing thoughts, a surprising scent brushed her nostrils. Instinctively, Rosalie's long legs began moving in the direction. Her bright golden eyes scanned the scenery. Her actions weren't those of defense but rather made in excitement. As foolish a thing that it seemed, the too familiar scent planted seeds of relief in Rosalie.
"Carlisle!" Rosalie exclaimed, as if the heavy familiar scent of the vampire hadn't been enough to prove that her adopted father was near. Her voice imitated that of a young child who's father had just returned from a long trip out of state; joy and excitement was heavy in her tone. Despite the fact that the blond vampire hardly ever regarded Carlisle as her actual father other than in public, the man that had cursed her to being a vampire so many years ago (Something that she wasn't too happy with at the time, and, if she was being honest, still wasn't too happy with currently.) still invoked similar emotions that a father figure would. To Rosalie, he had always seemed to be the brain of the family. It was his responsibility to keep everyone in line. Carlisle could easily pass for both the brain and the conscious of the Cullen coven.
Rosalie was standing only a few feet away from Carlisle when she finally noticed the second vampire. The odd girl with the burgundy eyes who claimed not to harm humans. The girl who had a similar past as Rosalie, only with a couple twists. Camille was it?
The sight of the second vampire sobered Rosalie considerably and forced her to reign in her emotions quickly. As a general rule of thumb, Rosalie appeared to be a collected and unpleasant person around strangers, or even around creatures she knew. Especially when a mere acquaintance was found on her hunting grounds with a family member who had just returned from a visit to a potentially dangerous coven. Camille's burgundy eyes -though they had already been accounted for and noted previously- put Rosalie on edge.
"Um. Hi."
Because the weather's cold This scene is getting old
