She sighed, unlocking her door, letting Lysander through, then locking it once more. She still didn't know why he wanted human blood, and she still didn't know what was wrong. She figured maybe if he fed, he'd tell her what was wrong. This way. she said, moving to the kitchen. She opened one of those freezers that sit on the ground. Sort of like an ice box. Except she had it set to body temperature. Perfect for when you fed. She wasn't sure what they were called. Inside, it had tons of blood bags. The box was only about two feet long, a foot high, and was kept on top of a counter. She pulled one of the newer ones out, and handed it to Lysander. She figured she'd give him a.. fresher one, rather than one of the other ones she had.

Lysander followed her, albeit a few feet behind her. When she stopped and opened one of the boxes to give him a blood bag, he breathed in. The air was more potent in her entire home then a warehouse full of human beings. He took the bag from her quickly and opened it. The scent reached his nose. It reminded him of a bear he had a few weeks ago. Except this blood was much more appealing. How did I go so long with drinking animal blood? The ties that bound him to animal blood were loosening. He had pushed the memory of his mother far into the back of his head.
Lysander started to drink. The contents emptied quickly. He could think clearly now. "Thanks." His voice wasn't distressed as it was a moment ago. It was more refine. He sighed.

When he thanked her, she nodded, giving him another for when he wanted one. Grabbing his arm, she brought him to the living room, sitting down on the couch. Lysander.. she said, exhaling. Please.. Tell me what's wrong? she asked, hoping this time he'd tell her. She also wanted to know why he wanted human blood. Something bad would have to had happened for someone to switch their blood preferences.

He let himself be led to the living room by Camille. Gingerly, he sat down next to her. "Here, I won't be needing this." He handed the bag back to Camille. With one last look at it, he turned away suddenly feeling disgusted with himself. Lysander regretted drinking the blood, but when he remembered the taste of it, he pushed that feeling to the back of his head. "I...it's stupid I shouldn't have done it, but I did. And now...I don't know how to feel." He kept his eyes on his fidgeting clasped hands, not knowing if he could look at Camille. But eventually he did, finding courage from the image of Adriana's smiling face in his mind. "I asked her to marry me. And she said she's not sure."

She looked down, unsure of what to say. Camille didn't know how old Adriana was, but it shouldn't matter.. After all, if she knew his secret, she was most likely not leaving him. But marriage? She sighed, running her hand through her hair. I know the feeling. she said. Being asked that, not asking it. she continued. You just need to let her think.. Believe me, there's much more to think about in marriage for a girl than a boy. she said, leaning back in the couch. I mean, we have to find a dress, plan the wedding. All you have to worry about is the tux and bachelor party. Oh, and remembering to show up. she said, smiling.

Images filled his mind. Images of Adriana in a flowing, white dress, a bouquet of flowers in her hands, a veil obscuring her face. But Lysander saw her so clearly. He could almost taste it on his tongue. Lysander smiled sadly at the thought, but then shook his head with a dispiriting look. "I shouldn't have asked her in the first place. It was so wrong of me. I was so selfish. All I wanted was her and her alone. No one else. I know she didn't say no, yet. But if she has to think about it then...then there's a good chance that it could be no." He hid has face in his hands. "She's fifteen, I know she's young, but I'm willing to wait. I've been waiting decades for a girl like her and now that I've found her I just...I want to be happy. And I am, I really am. But I just want to know that she wants me only. For the rest of time. Because that's the way I feel about her. She's the only one."

She sighed, looking down. Has she said that she wants to be with you forever? I mean.. If she knows you're a vampire, she's most likely not going to leave you. Lysander.. she stopped, exhaling. Maybe she said she wasn't sure because she's 15. If she doesn't marry you, she's missing out. You're a great guy. You never know. There could be more to the story of her being unsure about marraige. And it may not include you. she said, looking back at him.

"Yes she has. I feel the same way too, obviously. I told her we don't have to get married right away. I could stand to wait a few more years. A decade. Maybe even a century. I'm willing to wait as long as she needs." He breathed out. What he had said was the truth. A millennium, I'll wait that long if that's what it takes. "Thanks Camille," he said shyly and looked up at her. "I should ask her, I suppose, right?" He sighed. "So, what's the damage? Do you think she'll freak out when she sees the eyes?"

She listened as he spoke, nodding. It can't hurt to ask her. There's got to be another reason. She said. You didn't just not marry someone because you were unsure. Maybe it was her age. Maybe she just didn't like the whole marriage thing. Maybe there was another reason. As he spoke again, she looked back up at him. Well wouldn't you if you saw someone with red eyes? she said, smiling. I'd wait until the red goes away. But.. Are you going back to animals? she asked, unsure. She didn't want him killing a human, that's for sure.

"Yes, I suppose I would freak out. But then again, we are vampires." He stood up and looked at Camille. "Yes. Human blood is nice, but...I'll stick with animals...well, thanks for everything. I really appreciate it. There's really no one else I could talk to about this besides the other member of my coven who's on holiday in Napa Valley. I'll see you around, okay?" He turned towards the front door.

She nodded when he spoke. Good luck with Adriana. she said, standing up and going back to the kitchen, putting the bag of blood away. But remember. Don't go around her until the red goes away. she said, walking back into the living room. As he spoke again, she smiled. See ya. she said, sitting back down on the couch when he left, sighing.
