Amethyst. Hmm... She speculated over the twinkling purple gem as she stood in the aisle of Newton's. She had read the cheery bullshit card about how it was rare and precious. So precious it was worth all of $19.99. She smiled bitterly. The purple stone was beautiful and overlooked. She had a fondness for overlooked things. She took it off the little rack and purchased it from a slightly shell-shocked cashier. Ripping it out of the small pouch eagerly, she swept it around her neck and smiled at the subtly glinting stone. It reminded her of something her mother had used to wear. Maybe that was why she bought it.

James walked into the store. Might as well see who was going hiking this weekend. To plan out his next meal. The humans were very predictable. They made maps of their trails, organizeda party, and elected a party leader. With a large group, and having a map, James knew exactly how he was going to intercept them in their hike. It was almost to easy. It almost took the fun out of the hunt. Almost. That didn't top James, from loving every drop of blood, that came out of their death.
James walked down the aisles aimlessly. He heard a couple of people talking about a small hiking expedition. It would be easy to take them. Not even a lot of people going. But, enough to count. He made his way back to the front of the store. And then, he saw someone he didn't recognize. Which was odd. He thought he knew everone in Forks. But, apparently not. She even had a certain smell to her. A great smell to her. James thought she would be a delicious meal. But, she didn't seem one that would simply wander into the woods with a stranger. "Why hello." James said, smiling as he approached her. "I'm James. And, you are?"

Blysse whirled, her hair fanning out behind her in a perfect white aura. She looked at the newcomer and stared. She didn't realize what a mistake it was to have had her hair move so much, distilling her scent into the air. She acknowledged him but didn't smile. "I'm Blysse," she said, shrugging. "Make of it what you will. James, though? That's a name I haven't heard so much recently." Blysse wasn't a name you ever heard often but she didn't want to dwell on that. Unlike most girls her age, she liked her name, even if its fit was a bit awkward. She was not blissful. If anything she brought pain and annoyance to the majority of the people she'd encountered. It was her charm.

James smiled. Blysse. That wasn't a common name.Well, there wasn't much of a point teeling her that. She probably already knew. Maybe her parents wee hippies. James couldn't know. It wasn't in his insight, to know. "So, what are you doing out here?" James asked calmly. Her scent was great. He wished she would go hiking this weekend. That would be one hell of a meal.

Her hand shook almost imperceptibly. She hid it behind her back, unsure if she should show weakness to him. She wasn't sure what he was--nothing about him spoke volumes about how special or dangerous he might be. His face as absolutely typical, normal human features in a normal human face. His body was pale and strong, but he was in a hiking store. Chances were he was an outdoors-man--nothing special about that, right? She shook her head almost to herself, hoping he'd think of the gesture as a method to clear her thoughts. She looked up at him and shrugged. Why did he want her in the woods so bad? Fantasies of rapists colored her memories, he wanted her out in the dark, alone, where no one could hear her scream...
She pinched herself behind her back to remind herself how utterly absurd all these thoughts were. "I might go, I've been meaning to take my camera and take some pictures." She hoped that was a vague enough answer to act as a deterrent.

James put on a friendly smile. "Oh. That's sounds cool. Do you enjoy photography?" He asked, siply. His voice almost echoed throughout the empty store.
(I'm guessing she can read minds? And sorry about the short post >.>}

(nah, she's a human, silly. she can't read minds. she's just terrified of you.)
She shivered a little at his smile. His teeth glistened in a frightening way. It didn't seem like the expression was so far from a feral snarl. "Yeah, I've been taking pictures since I could hold a camera, pretty much." She wasn't sure if she was to make conversation or run for her life screaming at the top of her lungs. She settled for making conversation. It was less obvious to get her committed to a mental institution. And more likely to get her killed. "Do you have any hobbies?"

(Ohh. . . All right.)
"Sounds like you're quite the photographer then." James flinched slightly when she asked for his hobbies. He couldn't exactly say, he enjoyed hunting humans, and slowly drinking their blood, now could he? "Oh. . " James had to think fast. "I play sports." He was proud of this simple reply. Epecially, since, he actually knew about them. "I play Rugby, and soccer."

His flinch caught me off guard, although I was probably thinking too much into it anyway. I could see why he would flinch at what was such a dully cliche question I could snore. His answer was somewhat predictable, but something was only just barely off about the way he delivered it. I ignored the oddity and just continued with my poor attempts at conversation. "Rugby sounds cool, I've never wanted to try it though," I wasn't a sports girl. I was the artsy hiding in the shadows girl.

James nodded. Well, he pretty much realized that. She didn't hav much of a build, or seem like the type. She seemed to be like an indoors person. "So, what has brought you to Forks?"

I was starting to feel a little at ease with him. A little. Probably only because of the blaring smothered sunlight trying to pour through the heavy cloud cover or the helpful attendants around. I didn't seem to be in immediate danger now. I shrugged and sighed. "Dad's work, he's kind of a small town guy." He was so off, everything about him screamed dangerous. And then there was something that tied him to Freddy. I had no idea what it was, and asking about it seemed like the worst possible thing to do.

He nodded. "So, is it a permanent move or just temporary?" Well, James needed to know how much time he had to feed on her. He wouldn't want to waste time if she was going to move away at any point in time. He might as well eat her dad too. So, it seems that they got lost, or something. He could visualize the newspaper now. 'Young Girl and Father Missing. Murder Expected' The thought, somehow pleased him. "Well, I live in Port Angelles. It isn't to far from here."

I shrugged to myself, the back of my neck prickling. "Uh, permanent for my parents, I think. But I'm graduating this year, so it's temporary for me." I suddenly felt like I shouldn't have told him that. Somehow, I thought he would know if i was lying, like he could hear my heartbeats. What was up with him? What was he? No one gave off such vibes of terror. I could feel a cold sweat beginning on my arms again, the wind felt like ice against my skin. "Port Angeles? Yeah, I've been there. It's pretty." Freddie lived in Port Angeles too...but I was sure that didn't mean anything. Right?
