He sighed, being the first one out of class, as usual when the 7th period bell rang, signaling school was over. Walking to his locker, he stalled, wanting to look normal among the humans. He smiled to himself as he smelled a human walk by. She wasn't just any human. She was one that Tristan wanted. She smelled amazing, and he had to force himself not to do anything he'd later regret around her. Her name, was Anna.
He'd seen her looking at him a few times, but that was when he'd been staring at her, too. He didn't know how many other times she'd been staring at him. He turned around, watching her at her locker. He was hesitant about getting into a relationship. He didn't care that he was a vampire, and she was a human. He was just afraid that he'd hurt her.
As she turned around, facing him, he smiled. Turning back to his locker, he closed it, walking over to her. Leaning against the lockers, he smiled at her. Having fun staring? he asked, smiling. Now, sometimes he could be bold. Others, he preferred to keep to himself. It just depended on who he was with.

Anna looked up, at him, as he started talking to her. Tristan Moore...of course. she thought, I must look so pathetic, to him. "Staring? Whose staring?” she asked, trying to make her voice sound innocent, rather than embarrassed because she actually had been staring. She looked away from him, and opened her locker. By that time she had been able to learn almost everyone’s name and her locker number and combination. She took her bag out and dumped all of her books in it. Then she zipped her bag shut and closed her locker door.
Then Anna turned and faced him again. “But, if I were staring, I would’ve seen you staring, too.” She said, getting even more embarrassed; she flushed a shade of dark red. She looked down at her feet, to hide her face, and the sheepish grin she couldn’t suppress from it.

As she spoke, he smiled. He could tell she was embarrassed. I do believe you were staring. he said, watching as she turned back to her locker, putting her books in her bag, and turning back to him. He had to hold himself back as she blushed, the blood running to her cheeks, calling out to him. He didn't feed off of humans, but her blood was the only human blood he wanted.
Now, if you were staring, which you were, and you'd have seen me, which you didn't, then how would you know if I was staring or not? he asked. Realizing how confusing that sounded, he smiled to himself, wondering if she'd understand.

"Umm..." Anna began, as she replayed the question over and over again in her mind. "Could you repeat the question?" she asked, as they started walking to the student parking lot. She kept looking down at her feet, as they walked. She didn't want to be caught staring, again. Her feet seemed like the only safe thing to look at. Although she thought she felt Tristan's eyes on her, she also thought she could just be paranoid, and that answer would make much more sense.
After all, Anna thought, I'm nothing special? Why would someone like him even consider looking at someone like me? she asked herself. She sighed, miserably, forgetting that Tristan was still standing next to her. Oops. she thought, pathetically.

He smiled as she spoke, asking him to repeat the question. Though, he didn't. He didn't really need an answer for it. As they walked, he noticed that she wouldn't look at him. The thought made him smile. He knew she liked him. It was obvious. When she sighed miserably, he looked at her, gently putting his hand to her cheek, turning her face so she was looking at him. What's wrong? he asked, moving his hand away, knowing how cold it felt.

Anna’s heart started thudding against her chest, from the moment Tristan had touched her cheek to a long time after he’d let go of her face. She only hoped Tristan couldn’t hear it. Although she knew he was able to see her cheeks turning dark scarlet.
Tristan’s breath was very cold on her skin, just like his hand was. She could feel it, as he asked her something she didn’t consider thinking about, until she cleared her mind that had suddenly gotten fuzzy.
“It’s nothing.” Anna murmured, looking down at her feet, again. That’s when she felt the color finally fading out of her cheeks. How much more embarrassing can this get? she asked herself.

He smiled as she blushed, hearing her heartbeat. Loud and quick. Why do you keep blushing? he asked, smiling. He knew it was because of him, but he knew he'd go crazy if she blushed again. He wanted her, but he knew he couldn't have her. Especially if she found out what he was..

"I'm not blushing." Anna lied, a little too quickly. Of course. She thought. Typical, something like this should happen to me. It could probably only happen to me. She considered the fact that it could only happen to her, for a moment. But, then she saw her shiny, black pick-up truck coming into view.
Anna started going a little bit faster. She was slightly desperate to reach her truck, the faster she got to it, the faster she would be able to leave and get to her apartment, where she could be as embarrassed as she wanted, only in private. Almost there. she thought, pathetically.

He smiled. In a hurry? he asked, watching as her black truck came into view. He knew what car she had. He parked by her everyday. Obsessive? No. Wanting? Yes. But for what? They were getting pretty close to their cars, and he didn't know what to do. He enjoyed talking to her.. But what would happen when she left? He had an idea. Smiling, he walked slightly ahead of her, reaching her car before her. Standing next to it, he smiled. Do you have to leave? he asked. Why don't we go somewhere else? he asked. Yes, in a way, he was asking her out. Yet, he didn't know why.

"You just love accusing me of anything possible, don’t you?" Anna asked, not really intending on getting an answer. She saw her truck coming closer and getting bigger. But, then she saw Tristan walk in front of her and block the door to her truck. Oh god… she thought, What’s this about? she asked herself, a little bit worried.
Anna stood there, waiting for him to say something or move. But, when he did, she thought she’d rather just wait there than have to that question. What now? she asked herself. If I say yes…I have no idea what’ll happen. But if I say no, I’ll have to have a reason behind that. Umm…
“Sure.” Anna finally said, half shocked by her own answer. Oh no. she thought, frantically, again. She had no idea of what she was going to do, now. Although, she felt like she should’ve said no.

He smiled when she asked if he loved accusing her of things. Oh yes. he said, in a half sarcastic tone. Smiling, he watched her, wondering what her answer would be.When she said yes, he smiled, taking a step closer. Where do you want to go? he asked, wondering what she'd say this time. He didn't know what he planned on doing once they left. And he didn't know what she planned on doing. Anything could happen. Especially since he was a vampire and she was human.

Anna watched him take a step forward. And was surprised ato feel her foot itching to take a step backward, while the other one also wanted to go forward. But, she controlled her feet, and made sure the stood in the exact spot they were in. “Er…” she said, she’d thought he had already chosen what they were going to do. How was she supposed to know what to do? A few seconds ago she didn’t even think she was going anywhere with Tristan, now he wants her to pick where to go?
“You can pick.” Anna finally said, I sound like an idiot. she told herself. You can pick. she repeated in her head. How much more lame can I get? she asked herself, miserably, again.

He smiled, noticing how nervous she was. He felt like touching her again just to see her blush. He enjoyed watching her blush. As she spoke, he thought a moment. Well.. We could go back to my place... or the park. he said, wondering what she'd say to that. She could say anything, really. It wouldn't bother him if she'd rather go to the park than his house. As long as they got somewhere.

Not his house, bad idea. Very bad idea. Anna thought, “Er…the park is…fine.” She said. Because she saw nothing else she could possibly say. And she still couldn’t believe the mess she’d gotten herself into. You could’ve said no. she told herself. But then you would have to think of a reason as to why I can’t go anywhere but home. she argued with herself. Yes, and this is so much easier. she thought, sarcastically.
And, once again, Anna’s foot was aching to move forward. She resisted, though. Why should I move forward? she asked herself, It’s probably not like that…at all. she told herself, though she wished she didn’t have to tell herself that. Obviously she knew it wasn’t like that, and that hurt her bad enough, for a reason she didn’t even know, but actually reminding herself of that little fact was killing her.

He smiled. Come on. We can come back for our cars later. he said, still not moving from his place in front of her car door. Moving closer, he smiled again. Swiftly, he moved his hand up, brushing it over her cheekbone, smiling when she blushed.
He thought of taking her hand, but he thought that she wouldn't be able to move. She was already having troubles talking let alone looking at him. He began walking but stopped, waiting to see if she was coming.
