Four years you think for sure That's all you've got to endure All the total dicks All the stuck-up chicks So superficial, so immature
Rosalie couldn't help but quiver as she coaxed her red BMW M3 convertable (one her her most prized possessions) into a parking spot. The vampire wasn't shaking because of her awe for the car that she had worked so many hours on or because she had a huge government review-from-the-previous-year test that day that her teacher had practically guarenteed she would fail since she was the new girl (little did she know, Rosalie had every intention of acing that test and hadn't spent even the briefest moment studying). No, Rosalie was upset over the fact that she had to spend yet another day in the boring walls of Forks high school. It was enough to put a damper on her mood, at least. Most seniors could go through the day thinking, 'After this year, it's all over. I'll never have to go to high school again.' Unfortunantly, this would most likely never be the case for Rosalie, unless she could convince Emmett to go live on some secret island in the middle of no where. Which, simply wasn't going to happen.
The blond vampire cut the engine, turning the blasting radio off effectivly. She had been allowed to drive to school that day because all of the high school students couldn't fit in Edward's car. Why? Because Irina had come to stay with them for the foreseeable future, something that on a certain level bothered Rosalie since she hadn't quite managed all -or even nearly all- the details over the story out from Irina.
Rosalie paused, looking over to the vampire in the passenger seat, giving her a forced smile. The parking lot was already filling up with cars, with plenty of other high school kids filling the parking lot with their not-as-expensive cars.
"You ready for this?"
Then when you graduate, Ya take a look around and you say "Hey Wait!" This is the same as where I just came from, I thought it was over, aw that's just great.

Lysander drove into the parking lot in his 1958 BMW Model 507 Roadster. It was his second day and he was more then glad to get his first day over with, except there was still the rest of the year for which Lysander was not looking forward to. He didn't have a choice in that matter of course. Ariel would be furious if he just plainly stopped going to school.
The parking lot was nearly full with cars when he parked next to a fellow BMW. He was surprised to see an M3 convertible because this was Forks after all. And Forks was definitely not NYC or L.A. Lysander reached over to the passenger's seat and grabbed the long strap of his messenger bag in his hand. He turned off the car's cd player and opened the door.
The scent of blood hit Lysander. He looked around, there was something else in the air. The students were staring not only at him, but at his car and the BMW next to it. He closed the door with a snap and walked with the rest of the kids towards their first class. But just as he passed the M3, the scent hit him again and he knew where it came from now. Vampires. He smelled it throughout the school yesterday and now he knew why. Because there was a vampire. Several vampires, he thought. He then noticed that he had stopped at the rear end of the M3. Waiting, watching, to see what came out of the car.

Noticing Rose's forced smile Irina put a hand over Rosalie's. She gave a cocky half-smile, thanking God they'd gone hunting. She would've been able to resist but it would have been agony. A small part of her regretted the easing of her pain...maybe then she would know what Edward felt like around Bella.
"Always, babe."
Irina was worried about the stares she was getting, but happy that she had come with Rosalie to school and not with one of the others. With Rose by her side, she didn't stand out so much. Hoisting her new bag over her shoulder--she made sure to feign a struggle, it was heavy with textbooks--she exited the shiny red car.
Something caught her attention, a slight quiver of pale skin (not Rosalie) from behind her. She turned and locked eyes on a boy, perfect and pale and sweet-smelling. The thought formed in her head instantly. Vampire.
She turned to Rose, nudging her almost-sister slightly with her shoulder. "Who's that?" she asked, gesturing minutely. She gave Rose a strong, solid look with her newly-golden eyes that told her of the new boy's species.

A swift breeze reassured Rosalie of what Irina's eyes were already informing her. A vampire? Here? Rosalie turned, not even bothering to make it appear natural, and gave the apparent vampire a quick once over. Gold eyes reassured her slightly, but she couldn't help but wonder. This town was suppose to be better and safe; it was supposed to give them a better life than the one they had in Alaska. Well, maybe not better, but at the very least a welcomed change in atmosphere and people.
Rosalie shrugged as if to say, 'hell if I know' toward Irina, her eyes not moving from the mentioned boy. The vampire barely knew her way around campus and where each of her classes were, let alone the people that inhabited the building. Still, the presence of the stranger set her on edge. Could he be one of the three vampires Irina had spoke of that presented danger? Sure, he appeared to be of vegetarian nature, but that didn't necessarily mean they would be allies in the end. The blond vampire shivered at the idea, suddenly glad that her husband hadn't ridden to school in the same car as her, knowing that he would get ideas over future fights if it the stranger did prove to be one of the strangers Irina and Alice spoke of.
"Hello," greeted Rosalie slowly with a wary tone in her voice. With long, graceful steps she moved toward the read of her convertible, running her finger along the bright red paint and leaving a trail of smudges in her wake. If the vampire wasn't aware of Irina and and herself being of a similar species as him by the time Rosalie stood in front of him, the anxious look in her golden eyes would have informed him. It wasn't that she was afraid of a fight, because she most defiantly could hold her own in one. It's just she didn't like the idea of doing them unnecessarily.
Rosalie leaned back, pressing her body lightly against her convertible. She wasn't sure what to expect, so the blond vampire prepared herself for the worst. Subtly, she transferred her weight to the balls of her feet, her eyes watching the vampire in front of her carefully.

Lysander watched as two girls came out of the car. They were gorgeous and he just knew. One had brown hair, the other blond. The blond's eyes were fixed on him and his on her. She's judging me.
"Nice car," Lysander said instead of the obvious hello. The red color of it suited the blond more then anything. Must be hers.
"Look," he said in the lowest voice he could muster, one only vampires could hear. To human ears, it was silent. His lips barely moved before he continued. "I'm just like you." He was referring to their similarly colored eyes.
These must be the Cullens Victoria was talking about, he thought back to last night when he met the red-haired vampire. She warned me about them. Lysander stepped back slightly. He wanted to keep as much distance between them as possible. He wasn't really sure what was going to happen. But he kept up a front, just in case.

Irina looked at him, slightly intrigued. "Hmm," she spoke far too quietly for the humans surrounding them. "You are."
Irina, unlike Rose, was not passionate. She was slow to anger. She had no qualms with this other vampire, admired him even for being so young in this life and being able to control himself so well. She smiled, putting on a show for the humans. An awkward conversation between three of the most beautiful people in school was sure to be gossiped about. A normal conversation? Not so much.
"Thanks, it's Rose's car. I'm Irina, the beautiful one is Rose. And you're?" She wasn't sure if Rose would be pissed for introducing her before she had even decided whether she liked him, but she was close to Rose. She had a talent for calming the beautiful vampire down even Emmett sometimes envied.

Rosalie couldn't fight back a small chuckle at Irina's words. The beautiful one. Rosalie couldn't complain too terribly at the forced introduction, when such a pleasant -and true, as far as Rosalie was concerned- thing was worked so easily into it.
"Rosalie," corrected the blond vampire automatically. She didn't need the unfamiliar vampire calling her Rose, when she wasn't even sure if she approved of her adopted family referring to her as such. Lately the majority of the family had grown accusomted to calling her Rose, although she hadn't quite adjusted to it just yet. For so long she had been Rosalie, attached with her pretentious ways. Of course, it wasn't exactly like Rosalie had changed dramatically in any way. Rose just seemed more friendly. To her, she always imagined it as what she would go by when she was wise with wrinkles of old age. Rosey was still off limits as far as she was concerned, although Emmett could rarely sneak it into conversation.
Rosalie grinned slightly at the seemingly friendly vampire in front of her. If Lysander's intention had to been to soften her up with compliments, it was working. The convertible was her most prized possession; it was the thing she spent the majority of her time tweaking and working on. And although she had built many a car from scratch, Rosalie didn't hold as much pride in any of her own handiwork as she did in her red car.
Yet, Rosalie still stood, slightly on edge with the unfamiliar vampire standing in front of her. She wasn't one to forge allies with ease. If Irina hadn't been there, there was an aching feeling that the conversation that was due to follow would be filled with many an awkward pauses. Not because Rosalie was shy, awkward or bad with words, but rather because the blond vampire was bad with strangers.

"Irina and Rosalie. It's nice to meet both of you," he said coldly. After what Victoria about the Cullens' turning people into newborns and letting some of them escape well...he just didn't see how an animal drinking vampire could do that. "How long have you two been in Forks? I've only just arrived here a few days ago with my companion." Lysander kept his face emotionless. He didn't want to give too much away. He couldn't trust the Cullens after what Victoria had told him. "So...a little birdie told me you and Victoria's coven are going to start a war soon with each other. I suggest you stop turning people into newborns if you don't want the Volturi over here." He tried to keep his tone from erupting with anger. It was bad enough he was slightly twitching. He stood straight though, keeping a good distance from the two. "Some of us are trying to settle down in Forks and if the Volturi come, they're not going to show any mercy towards anyone, not even if they were involved."

Victoria. Irina, usually so calm and collected, was in an instant so mad she could spit. For appearance's sake--there were a multitude of prying human eyes surrounding them--she led the two over to a quieter area of the campus, and glared at the nearby humans until they left. She gave Lysander a steady gaze, keeping her voice level, knowing that an angry outburst would not incline him to believe her. She kept a strong grip on Rosalie's hand, not wanting the passionate vampire to cause a scene in public.
"We do not hunt humans. Period, end of story. It's murder and the entire reasoning for our alternative diet stems from that. The Volturi know this as well, Carlisle--I suppose his title would be Head or Leader--knows Aro quite personally." Her millenia-old accent crept into her voice again, as it always did when she was agitated. "Victoria would be the only one creating newborns, and as for a war--we certainly shan't start one, however, if attacked we are protecting a particularly precious friend. And we shall fight to protect this friend. You may or may not believe me, you are more than entitled to an opinion, however, I wouldn't trust Victoria. She doesn't form the same bonds we do--she breaks ties easily." He should know, in any case, what he was getting into.

Rosalie quickly grew agitated at Lysander's angered tones. He had no right to be angry at them. It showed through her glaring golden eyes and as she fidgeted with a stray piece of blond hair that refused to remain behind her ear no matter how many times she coaxed it to do so. And what was the nonsense about newborns? Honestly, did he not see the gold in their eyes? How many human-eating vampires have that attribute, after all? A soft growl escaped without her noticing from her lips that were firmly pressed together in an effort to restrain her tongue from making some rash mistake. They were in a public setting, after all, and public scenes never did suite the Cullens. A calmer side of her thoughts reminded her that it would be a pointless yelling fit, especially when they worked so hard to divert attention to themselves.
Rosalie allowed herself to be lead into a slightly more secluded place by Irina, suddenly celebrating over the fact that Irina had been forced to drive with her that morning. Without her to assist in handling the matter, it probably would have ended with tensions higher than when the scene first began. Rosalie wasn't bad with words, it's just occasionally she let her temper get the best of her. Occasionally in this situation referring to pretty much always.
"I assure you, we're doing no such thing," snapped Rosalie once in the semi-privacy of a more secluded area. The sad fact of the matter was that she was actually trying to come off as pleasant and understanding of the matter. With all the other things that were going on in the Cullen family, the last thing they needed was a confused vampire staging an attack on them for something they didn't even do in the first place.

Lysander walked with them towards a more peaceful, less crowded part of the school. When Irina spoke, he tried to keep an open mind, but Victoria's words had wrapped themselves around him. He shook his head, trying to rid of her voice saying over and over again what the Cullens' did or were going to do. But what if what they, Irina and Rosalie, said was true? What if Victoria had lied to him about the Cullens? It seemed like a very Victoria thing to do. But what if Victoria hadn't been lying? What about that girl with them yesterday at lunch? It was all too confusing to him. Victoria's lies had woven themselves into his brain.
"What about that girl? The one with you yesterday at lunch, the brown-haired girl. Victoria said she was going to be changed soon, to join your little army." He didn't mean for what he said to come out so...conniving. Dammit Victoria. He cursed himself for ever talking with her. For ever letting his guard down.

Irina was immedietly aghast. Even she couldn't fake this level of emotion. "Bella? Bella Swan?" Her voice cracked, she hoped Rosalie wouldn't avoid her now for being so attached to the human girl. "Of all people, Bella would be the last to ever be touched by a carnivorous vampire. She is solely one of the most precious things to one member of our coven. No matter who it was intending to hurt her, she would be safe. That includes us: the human girl is safe from us, regardless of how much we may like her." She glared softly at Rose. It's alright, he's not feeding Victoria information. I think it's okay to tell him these things, especially if he proves an ally.

Victoria. The other day at lunch when James had first openly made their presences known, it hadn't really dawned on Rosalie the consequences of the coven being present in their lives. Her common since shrouded by anger with her brother (which lately seemed to be a fairly constant and reasonable emotion for her to feel toward Edward) the full effect of the matter had yet to weigh down on Rosalie. She visibly grimaced. If anything, this confrontation from Lysander proved one of Rosalie's fears true; this whole thing between the two covens was stirring up to be quite the ordeal. And that was just what Rosalie needed: drama. Note the sarcasm.
At the mention of Bella Swan, Rosalie's gut twisted and her mind went spinning with anger. Not at Lysander or Irina but rather Edward. It was a pretty standard reaction for Rosalie, the ever-sensitive vampire that she was. For once, she wished the human girl would stay out of her conversations that she always somehow managed to find her way into. Not that it was actually Bella's fault but rather her brother's. Or at least that's how Rosalie chose to look at it.
"No matter how unpleasant the fact that she's around proves to be to some of us," grumbled Rosalie, her expression bitter with annoyance. The blond vampire was the one strongest against Edward's infatuation with Bella, although she couldn't quite get the point across to anyone else without coming off as cold and heartless. It wasn't that she didn't want her brother to be happy, but rather she wanted her brother to be happy with someone of the same species. Rosalie didn't like the idea of what new disposition Edward would find once the human died as all humans do. And even worse, what the couple might decide to do to spend forever together. Rosalie could tolerate being a monster, but she couldn't even begin to entertain the idea of the Cullens creating more uselessly. This girl had a life. A chance.
Rosalie felt her thoughts curl around Irina's words in her head, much like a cat would to a soothing hand. Unlike Jasper, Edward and even occasionally Alice's powers, Rosalie didn't mind Irina's. She didn't find it invasive in the slightly, unlike her three sibling's. Irina's, in Rosalie's opinion, was just useful.
This is more serious than we thought, Irina.

He wasn't quite convinced if what Victoria had said was a lie yet. But he could see it in the eyes of these two vampires. The way Irina spoke...the tone of her voice. This Bella Swan is a lucky girl. He scolded himself for letting Victoria get to him. Even since the day he had become a vampire, he had a thick, heavy wall around him. And now...Victoria destroyed it. Scattered. Lysander didn't know right from wrong anymore. "Victoria was lying to me," he said simply. Victoria had been lying. He looked away from the two, completely ashamed with himself for being tricked so easily.
"I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have...accused you so suddenly without knowing all the facts...from [i[both sides." He looked at them again. He noted the comforting gold of their eyes. An animal drinking vampire would never do something like this.

Irina clamped a firm hand around Rosalie's. She knew the vampire was about to say something that would do nothing to endear their fellow "veggie vamp", as Irina liked to call herself. "No, no, it's perfectly understandable, you're new and Victoria took advantage of your position. Victoria is also...an exceptionally good manipulator. It's a bit frightening, really. So, I hold no grudges. And this one here--well, I think she might just be a little nicer because I'm glaring at her." She smiled at Rosalie. She was one of the few who could push Rose's buttons--currently, the list was confined to her and Emmett.
